We Won Access Bank's Re:Code Nigeria FinTech Hackathon
I met Steven Nwadike at TEF in 2016 and our friendship blossomed really well. We met up somewhere in Ogba to catchup sometime January 2017 and he told me about an Hackathon he heard will be happening soon. It was the Access Bank's Re:Code Nigeria FinTech Hackathon.
Steven is an amazing networker and he had also met two brothers, who he had worked with in some capcity; Endurance Ekhoragbon and Theophilus Omoregbee Theo is an amazing backend engineer, Endurance is a frontend god, Steven is an excellent sales man, I lead the product design and UX research. We formed a team and later, Blessing Odeleye joined us. We were the perfect team.
The Hackathon challenge was simple; What can you build in 48 hours that will change the financial sector? Simple or complex?
So we got cracking
We created a whatsapp group and started discussing our approach
We did a lot of research and arranged our thoughts nicely on this slides:
We pitched the idea and they absolutely loved it. We were runner up and won the sum of NGN 1,000,000
I learnt a great deal from this experience and helped shaped my design skills.
This was one of the best experiences of my entire life
